Yes. Frontier One Vietnam is the official partner of Frontier One Inc. in Canada, providing fingerprinting services and assistance with RCMP Criminal Record Checks (Canada), FBI Identity History Summary Checks (USA), Apostille, and Authentication for clients in Vietnam.

Depending on the type of application, Frontier One Vietnam works closely with Frontier One Inc. and our partners in Canada and the United States to complete the required procedures, allowing clients to manage the entire process conveniently from Vietnam.

Clients receive support in Vietnamese and have a dedicated local point of contact throughout the entire process.

Clients must present valid government-issued identification when using our fingerprinting services or applying for an RCMP or FBI criminal record check.

1. Do the FD-258 and C-216C fingerprint cards have to be completed using ink?

No. Frontier One Vietnam offers both traditional ink fingerprinting and electronic (Live Scan) fingerprinting, depending on the requirements of the requesting agency or the type of application.

For electronic fingerprinting, the Live Scan system captures higher-quality fingerprint images, which are then printed directly onto the FD-258 or C-216C fingerprint card as required. This method helps reduce the risk of delays or rejection due to poor fingerprint quality.

The FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) typically processes an Identity History Summary Check within 5–10 business days after receiving a valid fingerprint card.

  • Electronic copy (PDF): Usually available within 5–10 business days.
  • Paper copy (if requested): Typically mailed within approximately 2 weeks after the electronic copy is issued.

Note: Processing times may vary depending on application volume and the FBI’s procedures at the time of submission.

At this time, electronic fingerprints cannot be submitted directly to the FBI from Vietnam or Canada.

Frontier One Vietnam can capture your fingerprints electronically using Live Scan technology and print them onto an FBI-compliant fingerprint card. You may submit your application yourself or choose our full-service package, where we will prepare your application and guide you through the entire process.

The FD-258 and FD-1164 are both FBI-approved fingerprint cards that can be used for an Identity History Summary Check.

  • FD-1164: Commonly used within the United States.
  • FD-258: More commonly used in Canada and Vietnam.

Both fingerprint cards are equally acceptable, provided the fingerprints are captured and completed in accordance with FBI requirements.

1. How much does fingerprinting cost?

The cost depends on the type of service and the purpose of your application

RCMP and FBI criminal record check results do not have a fixed expiry date.

However, the organization requesting the document (such as a consulate, educational institution, employer, or immigration authority) may have its own validity requirements, typically 6 months to 1 year from the date of issue.

We recommend confirming the applicable validity period directly with the requesting organization before submitting your application.

While we welcome walk-in clients, we recommend booking an appointment in advance to ensure faster and more convenient service.

Clients with appointments are given priority. Depending on our schedule, we may not be able to accommodate walk-in clients during busy periods.

Please bring two (2) valid government-issued identification documents.

If available, you should also bring the request letter or instructions provided by the agency or organization requesting your criminal record check.

Fingerprinting usually takes about 15 minutes.

Before your appointment is completed, our technician will carefully review the quality of your fingerprints to help minimize the risk of delays or rejection due to poor fingerprint quality.
